JOIN US FOR FRESH, LOCAL FUN!

The Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park Farmers Market is where friends and neighbors gather to share the experience of a community farmers market. Each Saturday morning, mid-April to December, 40-50 vendors offer an abundance of fresh, local, and organic produce, along with pasture-raised meat and pork products, farm fresh eggs and dairy products, and a wide variety of specialty and prepared foods.

Grab your friends, family, and pets and join us Saturday morning for a truly enjoyable community gathering. Start your morning off with a cup of freshly roasted coffee and a delicious sausage biscuit, then shop for local, naturally grown produce, pasture-raised meat, farm fresh eggs, and all kinds of specialty food items. Or, just hang out at the picnic table and play games while enjoying live entertainment by one of several market musicians.

HISTORY
Heritage-Sandy-Springs-Museum-and-Park-first-day

You can thank the foresight of community members Andy Bauman, Jeff Langfelder and Alex Rogow for the start of the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park Farmers Market! A Target closed down on Mount Vernon Highway and these men saw an opportunity to do something great with the parking lot of the empty building. They brought vendors together to bring fresh foods, artisan goods, entertainment, and of course our community getting together in the outdoors.

It started small and every week grew and grew some more, until we have what we see today, now in its 10th year, over 50 vendors, Little Diggers for the kids, musicians, and even more people of our community enjoying the new City Center space. Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park assumed management of the Farmers Market with the 2014 season when the name official changed to Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park Farmers Market.

Sadly, Jeff Langfelder passed away in 2017. But every week at 8:30 a.m., if you listen, you’ll hear a bell ring to begin the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park Farmers Market. This bell is in honor of Jeff and holds the inscription: Sandy Springs Farmers Market, Established 2010 Opening Bell, In Memory of Jeffrey Langfelder, Co-founder.

There is a memorial fund in the name of Jeff Langfelder which goes to support the Sandy Springs Museum and Park Farmers Market and scholarships for vendors or those in need.

Please consider a donation to the Jeff Langfelder fund at: Donate for the Bell

Would you or your company like to ring the Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market Opening Bell at 8:30 on a Saturday when the market opens? Let us know! It’s not required, but we would be grateful for a “bell-ring” donation. We will include you or your company in our weekly newsletter and on our social media platforms.

The Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market (the “Market”) exists to provide a central gathering place in downtown Sandy Springs, Georgia to foster a community spirit, which will be a showcase for food and products drawn from farms and gardens locally and throughout the region.  While not limited to farm or strictly “organic” products, the Market will seek to demonstrate a direct connection between eating seasonally and locally and the quality and sustainability of our environment and our daily lives. The Market will provide a community marketplace for farmers/growers to sell their goods directly to consumers, to assist local businesses that sell food, farm, garden and related products, and to provide an alternative, “first-name” shopping experience.

In addition, the Market will endeavor to:

  • Embrace and promote the healthy lifestyle with a “Farm-to-Table” market that will improve the variety, freshness, taste and nutritional value of produce available in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
  • Give local and regional growers and producers alternative, local marketing opportunities and to provide an opportunity for farmers and people from our urban community to deal directly with each other, rather than through third parties.
  • Provide an educational forum for consumers to learn the uses and benefits of quality, locally grown and/or prepared foods and food products.
  • Provide opportunities for producers and sellers to test and refine their marketing skills.
  • Provide additional exposure to area merchants in an informal and social environment.
  • Enhance the quality of life in Sandy Springs and our surrounding communities by providing a safe, inviting and accessible place for neighbors to gather and socialize.

Every week, you’ll enjoy locally grown and just harvested produce, farm fresh eggs and meats, artisan cheeses, breads, jams, pastas, salsas, and other delicious prepared foods. The more you know about who is supplying your food, the better you’ll feel about buying local and supporting our community. We encourage you to stop by, introduce yourself, and get to know the vendors and their products. If you would like to become a vendor, please click the application link below.
