Our brand new Heritage Kids Summer Camp in partnership with Goldfish Swim School is debuting this summer 2020! Our STEAM based camp is perfect for boys and girls ages 5-11 who are interested in nature, history, and the arts! Through games, historic simulations, special guests, crafts, and hands-on activities, campers will explore nature and gardening, local and Georgia history, and a variety of artistic media. Camp also includes a Friday Pizza Pool Party at Goldfish Swim School!
Eco Explorers! (June 8-12)
In our Eco Explorers week, campers will discover the agricultural history of Sandy Springs through outdoor activities, and hands- on gardening with special guests from the Sandy Springs Garden Club. Campers will be able to get their hands dirty as they experience horticulture, learn about local ecosystems, discover how the PH of soil affects plant growth, make terrariums, craft bird- feeders, and more!
Pioneers of the Past! (June 22-26)
In our Pioneers of the Past week, campers will learn all about various aspects of local and Georgia history through games, crafts, projects and performances. Learn how to write your name using the Cherokee alphabet, create red Georgia clay pinch pots, explore pioneer life by making your own hardtack and dipping your own candles, pan for gold like a prospector, and even build your own railroad!
Art Adventures! (July 13-17)
Discover Sandy Springs’ rich artistic tradition through a variety of media in our Art Adventures week. Campers will investigate local folk artists like Moses Robinson, practice plein air painting, learn how to make sculptures out of recycled materials, and create new works of art with chalk and tie dye. Campers will also explore the performing arts through theatre, music and dance.
